Her color compositions dominate her work, the choice of materials is tailored to this. Intuitively she determines the abstract formal language that has a universal appearance. From natural phenomena to the universe. The connection in her work is the search for harmony, first color and then form. She describes this relationship in her work between the moment of creation, the deliberation until a balance is achieved, as “remaining in dialogue with the painting”.
The work is so abstracted that you can hang it in any position, which is why she signs her paintings on the back.
Maria has an international focus. Her works have been sold in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and the USA.
