Art and Design Fokker still through Jan. 2, 2016

The exhibition of Fokker F28 aircraft parts will continue through Jan. 2, 2016. The participating artists worked tremendously hard to achieve such a beautiful result.
The aircraft parts were crafted into lamps, a desk, a cabinet and a champagne table. Other artists turned them into more abstract images. The selection ranges from large to small objects; suitable for a large hallway or just subtle on the wall.
All parts are described and each piece of art is listed in which part of the plane it was originally located. Some parts can even be retraced on which flight it crossed the world.
Artists have also responded to the theme in paintings and photography.
The gallery is open on Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On Sunday, December 20, the gallery will be open from noon to 5 p.m.
If you want to visit the gallery with groups, this is certainly possible even outside opening hours. The gallery is closed between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

The Fokker F28

“The story behind the F28 Art & Design project began nearly sixty years ago with the design of the Fokker F28 Fellowship, one of the top designs of Dutch industry. The first flight was on May 9, 1967 at 5:19 a.m. from Schiphol Airport. A total of 243 of these aircraft were built. In over forty years of active service, the F28 has flown on every continent of the world, carrying millions of passengers to the most exotic destinations. The F28 can rightly be called one of the most important monuments of Dutch industrial heritage. That Dutch artists and designers have now set to work with parts of the F28 that have actually been used in aviation is quite special.”
