Exhibition theme: order in chaos

Special weekend November 1, 2 & 3, 2013

Gallery Sille plunges into the theme of Order in Chaos and shows diverse work by a host of interesting artists. In Hans Klaui’s work, you are in danger of falling down. Swirls of shape and color with three-dimensional perspective make space rotate. Photographic works by Ferial Kheradpicheh show braided structures that appear chaotic while being arranged box by box. Of special note is the work of Alida Verheij who has created a new work from 13 separate paintings in which a dashing figure looks down on the chaos of life. Robert Pennenkamp is a creative mind from Amsterdam who creates insane projects and interactive installations. In the exhibition, he exhibits objects and paintings that fit the theme perfectly.

Order and chaos are also seen in Els Vegter’s landscape works of stacked oil paint layers. Within the paint structures there is room for unpredictability, chance and chaos. In Wouter van Donselaar’s mixed media paintings, the theme melts together in form and color. A celebration of color are Ylil’s painted houses with squares, lines, dashes and triangles. Mark Veliscek’s paintings and mantelpieces betray his architectural background. Geometric lines alternate with playful shapes. In addition to paintings and sculptures, the exhibition features glass objects.

Renowned glass artist Louis La Rooy will exhibit his well-known Streamers, Flags and new Happy Glass sculptures. With her colorful large work, Yvonne Zomerdijk brings the viewer into a world of birds surrounded by figures and landscapes. Tamara Sille created a chaotic floating installation of wood at the gallery entrance. Heads of ceramics by the Oudewaters Clay Collective ingeniously balance on the wooden structure. There is also room for many new artists.

The grand opening of Order in Chaos is Friday, Nov. 1, around 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3, the gallery will also be open. The entire weekend has a festive feel with music and tastings. The exhibition is great to combine with a visit to the characteristic town of Oudewater.
