Weathered objects, weathered material or damaged nature touch me. The traces from which life can be read. Finds from construction often move to my studio, such as old rust, lead or zinc from Utrecht roofs. Used lead full of weathered holes from roof moldings transforms into a horizon on canvas. I see visual arts as experimental fields where oil paint comes together with matter. Abstact polder, mudflats and dream landscapes are born in my studio from used materials. My work is about the brush stroke, the imagination and the objets trouvés that determine the composition. Emptiness and stillness form the background of spherical scenes. It's okay to get lost.
