Gaïd Ombre is a Surinamese-Dutch artist from Amsterdam, who exhibits her work internationally and has showcased it at various prestigious art fairs. She is best known for the people in her paintings, where she combines an impressionistic style with a playful and colorful approach to her subjects. Her paintings radiate a vibrant energy through the use of beautiful, rich colors and a subtle degree of abstraction that makes her work unique.
In 2019, Gaïd participated in the television program Sterren op het Doek, where her talent for portrait painting was praised. Her style ranges from expressive portraits to figurative works that capture the complexity of human emotions and identity. In addition to her paintings, Gaïd also creates bronze sculptures, bringing her artistic vision to life in three-dimensional forms.
Gaïd’s work has been featured at international art fairs and has attracted attention worldwide. Her work is also featured on a life-sized tulip bulb in a public space in Noordwijk, and the Reade Rehabilitation Center has included one of her works in its permanent collection. Recently, she was also an artist in residence in Curaçao, where her time on the island further enriched her creativity and inspiration.

Gaïd also has a strong affinity for fashion. She attended the Fashion Academy and had her own fashion label, which reflects her love for clothing in her art. Fashion plays an important role, especially in her larger works, where clothing and fabric have a prominent visual presence.
