Marian Verdonk

Marian started her career in theater design in 1989. She has worked for, among others, the International Dance Theater and for CoDarts, where she designed and created costumes for a variety of choreographers.

Marian loves working on commission, but also wanted to make work independently. She followed painting and monumental work at AKV|St Joost and later also the teacher training at ABV|Fontys, where she graduated cum laude with ceramics.

In 2012, textiles, painting and sculptural design came together when she discovered the punch technique. With her free hand she can shape unspun wool and other textile fibers into monumental wool paintings. Cuddly, soft, open in structure and breathable. Always full of movement.
