Visit Summer Exhibition The Color 2024

Opening weekend June 8 & 9, 2024

In our Summer Exhibition with the theme Dé Color, it is not just about a color or colorful but about the artist’s meaning or underlying thought.
After months of preparation by our artists, we cannot wait to present this unique exhibition.
This time we present 30 artists within this theme.
We will show you a wide range of different styles and techniques.
There is a little bit of everything, painting, sculptures, photography and wall objects.

Festive weekend

On Saturday, June 8 at 3 p.m. we will open the Summer Exhibition Dé Kleur.
The artists will be present that afternoon and then we will toast to a new season.
Everyone is welcome to attend!
The gallery will be open that Saturday until 9:00 pm. Sunday, June 9, the gallery will be open from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.
The entire weekend has a festive touch.
During the exhibition you can enjoy not only all the art but also our terrace outside the gallery.
Especially for this weekend we have a cozy outdoor area that is decorated with plantings by Hoveniersbedrijf Brand and where everyone can relax.
There will be swinging music.
We serve wines from Grandi Vini, our wine specialist from Oudewater.
But also cheese and appetizer boards and delicious specialty beers, among other things, will be available.

Theme ‘The Color’

Besides form, color is one of the most important elements in art.
For our Summer Exhibition, our artists have created amazing works of art in the theme “THE Color”.
For example, Els Vegter shows the beauty of water and Wadden in an abstracted way.
The green-blue color of the water is symbolic of the beauty of the Wadden Sea and in general of underwater life and the deep sea.
Climate change has great consequences and unfortunately also for the colorful bottom life. Bianca Berends is new to Sille Gallery but of course work from her series ‘Colors Unleashed’ cannot be missing from this exhibition.
The vibrant painting is a creation of oil paint on linen and cut into graphic shapes on poplar plywood.
She portrays sprightly children jumping uninhibitedly towards life.
In Kaat Stieber ‘s photography, still life is depicted in its own way.
It can be fruit but also a bird.
Tranquil images in sometimes monochromatic tones.
Independently of each other, the photographs have a mutual connection in a playful way.
Besides color, humor also plays a major role in the photographic work of Kaat Stieber. Ruben Creemers goes back to the basics, the elementary paint stroke.
The artist makes a multi-colored paint stroke last forever by transforming it into a wall object.
In detail, he has worked this image down to the splatters.
His background as a graffiti artist and graphic designer underlies his decorative murals.
Sculpture and painting come together in his work. Angelique Mathijssen – van den Bosch has worked with her inspiration from Scandinavia.
Her travels result in tranquil landscapes.
The Northern Lights which were recently also seen in the Netherlands are reflected in her oil paintings.
The emptiness and stillness are tangible.
Soft tones alternate with fluorescent colors, making the landscape come alive and embrace you. In her photography, Monique Roodenburg works with the symbolism of color.
In the series “Water and bread,” the photographer invites you to reflect on the dynamics between giving and taking, desire and sharing.
Water and bread symbolize nourishment and our needs.
The vibrant colors of the ducks and chicks reflect the diversity of desires and needs we all cherish.
Yellow symbolizes joy and optimism.
Pink represents gentleness and love.
Orange represents enthusiasm and vitality.
Green represents peace and harmony.
Samuel Dejong’ s wall objects sparkle at you in bright hues.
He processes the surfaces in a robust mixed media technique in which the applied butterfly shapes form a nimble contrast.
He applies these contrasts in color on a 3d background that is misted from different sides.
This gives you a different color from all sides. Glass art by Angenelle Thijssen is inspired by (pebble) stones in a stream bed that, lit by the sun and the wet of flowing water, show many shades of color and brilliance.
We take the beautiful pebbles with us and are surprised when upon returning home the then dry pebbles hide their colors.
Gone is the magic.
Under the influence of water and light, the minerals and ores in the stones reveal their colors.
Angenelle captures that moment in her bowls of colored glass.
This is only a small impression of what is on display.
The exhibition “The Color” can be visited from June 6 through August 31, 2024.
August 1 through 9, the gallery is closed. Note: On the A12 in June there are many road works especially in the weekends between Nieuwerbrug and junction Ouderijn near Utrecht. Please check your travel on vanAnaarBeter.nl.
