Ad Arma born in Rotterdam and educated at Artibus, Academy for the Visual Arts in Utrecht. Ad Arma is a versatile artist. In addition to his graphic work, he also makes bronze sculptures, gouaches, but also large oil canvases. The same theme can be found in all his work: the coincidence of the past and the future in the dreams of the present. You will recognize an ‘Ad Arma’ from thousands. The underlying idea in much of his work is the realization that everything is one and connected. Over the years, new themes continue to emerge. But the thin dividing line between dream and reality, transience, space and insignificance, oblivion and especially nature is an inspiration. But he considers the vision of the art viewer to be more important than the artist’s intention with his work. In his studio in the polder of the Netherlands, Ad Arma prefers to work on his new creations in the middle of the night. Alone, in his own world of experience.
