Bianca Berends is a passionate artist whose paintings are a direct reflection of her personality and creativity. Her work is characterized by powerful painting strokes, vibrant colors and a dynamic energy that transports the viewer into the story she tells. Creating a connection with the audience is central to her artistic process.
In her most recent series ‘Colors Unleashed’ (2022-2024), Bianca focuses on the carefreeness of youth. Jumping children make bold jumps, symbolic of an uninhibited zest for life. The colorful and dynamic works capture the essence of this theme in a powerful way.
Bianca is inspired by a diverse mix of artists and styles. She admires the colorful collage compositions of Njideka Akunyili Crosby, the innovative combinations of Robert Rauschenberg and the expressive works of George Condo. She is also a great fan of the paintings of Joaquín Sorolla. In the fall of 2021, Bianca published her first book ‘In the Atelier’, in which she takes readers into her creative space for 150 days while she works on a new series of paintings. The book offers a unique insight into her artistic process and the creation of her work. Bianca’s talent has not gone unnoticed. Her work has hung in prestigious museums, including: National Portrait Gallery (as part of the BP Portrait Award exhibition), the Kröller-Müller Museum
