Eelco Maan

Eelco Maan has been working as a visual artist since 1994. He initially experimented with figurative, fauvist and surrealist elements – with influences from Klee, Miró and CoBrA – but his style gradually became more sober and abstract. His work fits into the tradition of lyrical abstract art and has its own unique touch, with a mystical undertone. The paintings have similarities with work by previous great artists, but have a compelling character of their own, recognizable in their authenticity.
Since 1995, his work has been regularly exhibited solo and in groups at galleries in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Germany, Italy and Japan and at renowned art fairs at home and abroad.
