I have been working as an independent visual artist since June 2004. Before that, I worked in ’the business world’ from 1972.
I work with modeling wax (modelling, casting in bronze), steel, iron, glass and copper (constructing, welding, fusing) and with wood and stone (classical sculpting). In 1998 I took an evening course in crafts and also a number of courses with sculptors and bronze casters. Furthermore, I am self-taught.
From 2004 to 2008 I mainly worked realistically and in bronze, sometimes in wood and stone. Since 2009, I have increasingly started looking for abstraction, working less and less in (cast) bronze and more and more in construction techniques and materials. The cast bronzes are almost always series, the construction work is always unique, which of course also applies to all statues in stone and wood.
In 2023 I bought a small smelting furnace and i cast bronze and brass myself mainly in the sandcasting technique.. ”Golden moon”, ”Tree of life” and ”Sunrise” are exemples of this technique.
