Heidweiller grew up largely outside the Netherlands in New York, Curaçao and Suriname before the family returned to the Netherlands. He started his studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 1981. After completing his education, he settled in Amsterdam. In addition to his own work, he assisted Herman Brood with his project of painting tram line 2 on behalf of Fame. He designed merchandising for Marco Borsato and he designed for clothing brand ART 4 Use.
His work is recognizable as cityscapes. Using various techniques he creates canvases of images of imaginary cities.
