Heleen Wilke

In 1966, Heleen trained as a craft teacher and subsequently worked as a visual arts teacher for 15 years. Color and line are

its most important elements. She likes to experiment with different materials to get a beautiful texture on the canvas. People are her most important theme: ‘what unites people and where people stand alone’. She is looking for the contrast between connection and letting go. Heleen tries to express these themes in her work.
