Janine C. Schimkat

“The microcosm in the deep sea with the special light on corals and all kinds of organisms has always interested me. Images about this continue to fascinate me. And it has become a theme in my work that provides almost endless inspiration. When someone ever asks me if I ever want to work on another theme, my response is “I don’t know why!”, says Janine Schimkat (Tegelen, 1970).
She finds the mathematical repetition of motifs in nature fascinating, which she tries to reflect in her own designs. Since 1995, this artist’s work has been on display both indoors and in sculpture gardens during various group and solo exhibitions each year. Various awards show appreciation for her sculptural work.
