As a sculptor, Jolanda likes to work with clay and is inspired by nature, among other things. She is currently working on Mussels in the Frames of Nature series. As a child, she was fascinated by the clusters of small mussels that she found along the beach during the holidays. Tumbling along the tide line, they moved back and forth with a different shape each time. She called them ‘mussels’. The movement of ebb and flow is especially important as a source of inspiration.
Through various trips to Africa, this continent is also an important source of inspiration for her, which can be seen in her king, ram and bird women. Her bowls and bowls also radiate this atmosphere.
