Marly Freij(portretten)

Until recently, Marly has mainly made abstracted landscapes and sea views. Having started painting by taking lessons in portrait and figure drawing and painting for 10 years, she has picked up this old love again. Since 2016, she has also focused on making portraits of women in her free work. Each portrait shows a side of a woman: powerful, dreamy, caring, quirky, contemplative, etc. In fact, the portraits together form the many faces of one woman.
Just as in her vistas, in this series she pays a lot of attention to the background of the paintings: beautiful structures, layering, crackle and special effects. This is part of her own signature.
The portrait is sometimes clearly present. Sometimes you have to look for it. So exciting…

The paintings are for sale. However, they can also be rented for a short period of up to 3 months in order to make a well-considered choice.
