Exhibition PHOTOBOND 2018 at the Gallery

Visit the Fotobond exhibition at Gallery Sille! The exhibition is a new initiative of Gallery Sille in cooperation with the national Fotobond.

On display in Oudewater from April 13 to 29, 2018.
Sixty photographers, members of the national Photo Association, will show their works in a variety of categories, including portrait, architecture, nature, documentary and still life.

From over 1600 images submitted by some 400 participants in 5 categories, first the jury, consisting of professional photographers who are each among the top in their genre, evaluated each submitted photo. They were Govert de Roos (fashion, model, portrait), Wilco Dragt (nature, landscape), John Verbruggen (architecture, urban landscape), Corrie de Kruif (documentary, journalism) and Thijs Gerbrandy (free category). They selected the 450 photos for the Photo Association’s Yearbook.

A second selection of 60 images was then made by gallery owner Tamara Sille from the series of photographs selected for the book. Widely sized and professionally C-printed on dibond, sponsored by the Beeldgebouw, these works are on display at Galerie Sille. There they are for sale to those interested in contemporary photography. This sales exhibition represents a special development for the Photo Association. In doing so, the Photo Association adds something new to the opportunities available to members.

The grand opening will be on Thursday evening, April 12, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Govert de Roos
. Govert developed his passion for photography at a very young age. In 1969, then 15-year-old photographer Govert de Roos managed to get through to John Lennon & Yoko Ono’s Hair Peace-Bed Peace action with a forged pass. In 1975, Govert started his own studio and has since photographed numerous famous Dutch and international artists such as Abba, David Bowie & Prince. Watch the NPO Television item

Participating photographers will be on hand to talk about their work. The photo association’s 2018 yearbook will also be presented on this evening.

Due to the expected crowds, we recommend parking at the Swimming Pool (statenland 1 – Oudewater) from there it is a 5 minute walk.
