Piedras in Corten steel

Angelo Moyano is a versatile artist who works with materials such as natural stone, bronze, and Corten steel. From feminine forms to abstract sculptures, form and movement play an important role in his work.

In his Piedras series, he explores the balance between stacked forms. The Quatro Piedras Grande, released in late 2024, consists of four Corten steel components that balance together. This version is now sold out, as is its predecessor, the Tres Piedras Grande. The sculptures stand freely on the square pedestal and, under the right conditions, sway gently in the wind. Moyano has since also created the Cinco, featuring five stacked components. He won’t go any higher than this: the Cinco is the final piece in this series of balanced stacks!

Smaller versions of the Dos, Tres, Quatro, and Cinco are also available: Peque (the smallest), Mini, and Medio, some of which are available upon request. These sculptures are also produced in limited editions. View his available collection in Oudewater or online.

Corten steel

Moyano welds the rolled parts himself, ensuring perfect balance in his works of art. Corten steel is a type of metal that forms a protective rust layer and prevents further rusting. Moyano’s sculptures can be delivered unrusted and naturally develop the familiar warm, brown/orange rust skin. The color creates a contrasting appearance in the environment.

Always in development

Angelo Moyano’s work showcases a fascinating blend of design and innovation. Through his balancing sculptures and stacked compositions, he explores new possibilities in form and balance. This exploration leads to new abstract forms and finishes. He is currently also working with coatings and polished stainless steel. In late 2026, he will introduce a new direction in his work, centered on asymmetry.

Collection

Moyano works with natural stone, bronze, and steel. His sculptures feature powerful forms that interact with their surroundings. These forms are often derived from figurative elements, such as the feminine curves that also appear in his torsos and “little bottoms.” In his small “Piedritas” made of alabaster, his distinctive formal language and his interplay of movement and balance come together. It is fascinating to see how Moyano’s signature style remains recognizable throughout his entire collection>>.
