Summer exhibition “GROEi” at Sille Gallery – an ode to development and flowering

This summer, Sille Gallery in characteristic Oudewater presents the new thematic exhibition GROW, a multifaceted and layered exhibition not to be missed.

The theme can be interpreted in countless ways in art. In nature, growth means awakening from winter: new life germinates, grows and blossoms. Everything moves in its own rhythm, on its way to full strength and individuality. Inner growth and personal development are also an important starting point for this exhibition.

The collection

“Our artists, as well as a number of guest artists, reflect on this multifaceted theme. GROEi inspires them to create visual work in their own style, ranging from subtle stillness to expressive flourishes. The exhibition shows how growth manifests itself in various forms and materials, and invites wonder and reflection,” said gallery owner Tamara Sille.

The collection is of high quality and offers a balanced mix of abstract and figurative art. Like the playful yet ironic sculptures by Netty van Osch, in which physical change is depicted with humor and sharpness. Very fitting are also the beeswax paintings of Suus Sugar, in which she depicts flowers and blossoms with a strong depth effect. In addition, there are the abstract sculptures of Hans Schüle, in which a continuous play of lines depicts a tangible form of development. The new collection of Samuel Dejong, in which he works on linen with real elements of nature, captured in his distinctive, deeply colored layers of pigment.

Sille Gallery is known for its strong, contemporary selection and innovative exhibitions. This summer, the gallery once again proves how art can surprise. The exhibition can be admired both physically at the gallery and online.

To visit in Oudewater

The summer exhibition GROW can be visited through August with an extension to mid-September 2025, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. For additional hours of operation, visit the website. Admission is free and parking is available right outside the door. A visit to the gallery can easily be combined with the atmospheric center of Oudewater, where you can go for a terrace, lunch or walk.
