Rinus Hofman

Hofman was born and raised in The Hague, after his studies and graphic work he has fully focused on being an artist in recent years. Due to the intensive painting technique and drying times of the oil paint, the collection is not extensive, but is limited to small exhibitions currently housed at Sille Gallery.

The work of Rinus Hofman is characterized by pasty oil paint layers. Up close you see small paintings, views and abstract shapes with their own visual language. The rhythmic, abstract lines, shapes and surfaces make the viewer curious from a distance. Hofman likes to go for the big work, but also looks for depth in the smaller formats that are currently very popular.
