Rob van Acker

In our collection, we present the art of Rob van Acker. With his FerroScapes, he creates intriguing landscapes of iron and rust, where urban structures gradually blend into empty landscapes. In Van Acker’s metal workspace, each piece grows organically, like an old city slowly expanding. He then allows the entire piece to rust in a painterly way – a process he doesn’t fully control, but subtly guides. Once the desired effect is achieved, he halts the rusting process, preserving the relief. These fascinating works invite viewers to look beyond the here and now: they offer a new perspective on the world, where small details fade and broad outlines become visible. The relief and texture of the rust give each piece space for the viewer to see and feel their own story.
