Van Erp Objects

​Tom and Wim van Erp, operating under the name Van Erp Objects, craft geometric, vase-like sculptures distinguished by their intricate triangular compositions. The varying angles at which these triangles are connected create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, offering viewers a shifting visual experience as they move around the pieces.​

Throughout human history, treasures have captivated the imagination—embodying beauty, luxury, and mystery, and evoking a sense of adventure. From legendary quests for El Dorado’s gold to childhood memories of treasure maps in adventure films, the allure of hidden riches is timeless.​

Van Erp Objects channels this fascination into their series titled Tre△sure. This collection, produced in limited editions, merges contemporary techniques with traditional craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously constructed from carefully arranged copper triangles, serving as the signature form of the series. These small-scale components are ideal for processes like patination, oxidation, and polishing. The designs emphasize simplicity, symmetry, and balance, drawing attention to their refined finishes.​

Tre△sure is an evolving series of design objects. The initial offerings include mirrors, vessels, and pendant lamps, available in various sizes and finishes. Each version is a limited edition comprising one prototype, six numbered pieces, and one artist’s proof. Additional objects and finishes will be introduced as the series progresses.​
