Extended through October – at Sille Gallery in Oudewater
Let yourself be carried away by DRIJVEN
Summer is lasting just a little longer this year at Sille Gallery in Oudewater. The group exhibition *DRIJVEN* has been extended through mid-October. This is a great opportunity for anyone who hasn’t seen the exhibition yet or would like to come back and see it again.
As a result, “FLOATING” takes on a different meaning for each artist. This results in a multifaceted exhibition that brings together painting, photography, sculpture, and wall installations. Some artists approach the theme very literally, while others seek a more personal or abstract meaning. Angelo Moyano ’s sculptures revolve around balance, with forms that seem to almost float. Lotte Kloppenburg playfully interprets the theme in her series of melting ice creams, while Ramon Otting uses glass reliefs to depict the movement of water over sand. Marjanka Jonkers created large, impasto paintings especially for DRIJVEN, in which the material itself seems to move and float across the surface. The combination of all these different perspectives makes the exhibition a surprising experience.
As you walk through the gallery, you’ll discover time and again just how broadly a single theme can be interpreted and how materials, technique, and the artist’s personal touch play a decisive role in that interpretation.
There are also new works to discover, including the paintings of Laura Does. Her work has been on display at Sille Gallery since this summer.
Carefully curated and centrally located
Sille Gallery has been based in historic Oudewater since 2011, centrally located between Utrecht, Gouda, and Woerden. The gallery presents a carefully curated collection of contemporary art by established artists and emerging talent. Quality, craftsmanship, and a distinctive artistic voice form the basis of the selection. In the fall, the gallery remains dynamic, featuring new group exhibitions and regularly rotating works.
Gallery owner Tamara Sille: “For me, art begins with a sense of wonder. That moment when a work catches your eye and makes you curious about the artist and the story behind it.”
