Hans Leijerzapf

Be inspired by paintings featuring men in coats working with everyday or not so everyday objects. They are often awkward poses, as if the men are engaged in something useless and the object does not matter at all. This often comical scene takes place on a self-conceived stage.

Lilian Wessels

The sculptures exude the admiration Wessels has for the African strong-willed woman with beautiful realistic expressions. What is special in her sculptures is the use of materials; they reinforce each other. It is neither an addition nor an embellishment – it is a combination of techniques, which form, as it were, a journey of discovery whose end is not yet in sight.

Each sculpture is unique and has its own name with a specific meaning. The sculptures exude warmth and intimacy. They are images with a soul. Lilian Wessels’ sculptures are part of Sille Gallery’s permanent collection
