Exhibition “the power of stilling”

The art exhibition “the power of stillness” consists of a large collection of modern artworks. Oa. is the ceramic work of Mo Cornelisse. With her Melting Vases, it seems as if the vase has melted and come to total rest. Evelyn Hamilton’s paintings also stand out during this exhibition. With the persons on the canvas, they seem to slow down in their movements between the ample smooth strokes of paint.

Mo Cornelisse has been working as a full-time ceramicist since 2012. She seeks the challenge in simplicity, material and contrasts. She makes wall objects out of porcelain. The series of “crying dolls” express different feelings. Everyone feels down sometimes, you feel empty or gagged. Feelings that are not often expressed but everyone experiences from time to time.

Evelyn Hamilton graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium where she specialized in portraiture and anatomy. Her striking composition and powerful use of brushstrokes make her canvases an extraordinary spectacle. Capturing movement and emotion as captivatingly as possible fascinates Evelyn immensely.
