Introducing 4 new artists
Time flies, starting June 8 we are already starting the Summer Exhibition. We will present art by 35 artists and welcome 4 new acquisitions!
We would like to briefly introduce these artists to you.
Carina Wagenaar
Large medallion artworks by artist Carina Wagenaar will soon show off in the new exhibition. She graduated from the Amsterdam School of the Arts. ”My work is mostly about expressing the identity of the moment. During my working process, I use forms and structures, take them apart, use fragments and transport them to a new context. These monumental medallions are inspired by cameos, lace, relics and symbolism.
Babette Degraeve
Harmless playfulness, innocence and open-mindedness can be seen in the bronze sculptures of Babette Degraeve. Little boys with wings and dogs that move you or make you smile.
Sometimes the images are small but more often they are large or even very large. A special piece of craft in sculpting and processing to the heavy bronze. Born in Bruges but graduated from the Arnhem Art Academy.
Noortje Haegens
Large soap bubbles float through a dreamy landscape. Photography allows Noortje Haegens to play with reality. Soap bubbles are actually a classic theme, from the sixteenth century, bubble-blowing children have been depicted in art to symbolize impermanence. The nearly bursting bubble refers to this: now it is beautiful, but it could be over just like that. Noortje Haegens graduated from the Breda Art Academy.
Peter Leuhof
What can be created with an…. woodchip? Or with a piece of string? Peter Leuhof uses it to create intriguing, timeless and rhythmic 3D compositions. Planed wood flakes are dyed, dried, cut to size and then rhythmically assembled. His methods touch on the themes of recycling, sustainability and ecological awareness.
